July 2024 – Distribution of Point of Sale Materials to leading UK Supermarket Chain
The Client
A longstanding client approached us with a project requiring meticulous pricing and planning. As a trusted and well-established point-of-sale business based in Leicester, our customers regularly design and produce products for major retailers. Consequently, we are well-versed in meeting high expectations and adhering to tight turnaround demands.
The Challenges
The project required us to receive and short-store our client’s products in our fulfilment warehouse. With a fast turnaround, we were to pick, pack, and deliver metal point-of-sale displays to 110 petrol service station grocery sites across the UK within our customer’s time restraints and cost parameters.
We collected approximately 20 pallets of metalwork from a single site and brought them into our warehouse. That same evening, our dedicated warehouse team collated the data provided by our customer to ensure that we operated a fast pick-and-pack operation ready for dispatch.
At this point, we ensured that any personalised packaging or additional marketing was added to the multiple shipments. We also used our own labelling system so items can be easily identified once they arrive on site. We then preloaded our dedicated vehicles, ready to dispatch the items for a swift turnaround the following morning. Using the provided distribution list, we coordinated dedicated deliveries to all 110 stores.
Deliveries occurred during business hours, which presented the challenge of navigating the stores’ food deliveries and operations. Despite this, we successfully completed deliveries within 48 hours of stock collection.
At the project’s conclusion, we provided the client with photos of the items at their destinations and a comprehensive Proof of Delivery (POD) list to ensure transparency and reassurance.
To prevent items from getting lost in busy stores, we clearly labelled all items ourselves for the consignees.
The Solution
Initially, our customer planned to use the overnight delivery network, which they had relied on many times before. However, we advised them that this would be a more expensive option and suggested our dedicated service instead.
Opting for our superior dedicated service offered increased security and safety, premium service and transit times, and advanced tracking and reporting. This approach not only reduced costs but also ensured timely and efficient service. By working closely with the customer, we were able to meet their needs while staying within budget.
The Conclusion
We were thrilled to successfully complete deliveries within 48 hours of collecting the stock from our customer. This not only exceeded their expectations in terms of timeline but also allowed us to complete the project under the initial cost projections.
