November 2024 — International shipping of seasonal POS to high-street beauty retailer

Dedicated distribution of fragile Point of Sale materials to a leading beauty retailer in Ireland.

The Client

Our longstanding client is a retail creative who strategises, designs and produces materials for retail environments and Point of Sale.

This particular project involved moving newly created Christmas POS materials to a high-street retailer in Ireland. As their trusted partner over many years for both UK & International shipping, we are well versed on their shipping needs and the tight deadlines that they work to on a regular basis as suppliers to the retail sector.

The Challenges

Our client’s initial instructions were to carry out a same-day delivery into Northern Ireland and then transport the goods to the retail store in Ireland on the same day, which was a Sunday. Due to the store’s strict Sunday delivery policy, they were unable to receive the goods until Monday morning, so we made some last-minute changes to accommodate both our client and the retailer.

These changes required us to arrange for our driver to travel over to Northern Ireland on Sunday evening, sleep overnight in the cab, and provide delivery of the goods on Monday morning. The vehicle that we were using had a slightly shorter bed length because it was equipped with a sleeper cab. As a result, safely loading all the palletised and loose items to prevent any damage required more time and effort. The trained warehouse staff took over an hour to carefully arrange and secure the load, ensuring that everything was properly positioned to avoid shifting or damage during transit.

The Solution

To help keep the costs down for our client, we offered the option for us to supply the goods directly to the fitters in Northern Ireland so that they could inspect and transport the goods on the following day.

The store in Ireland was very happy to receive their Christmas POS with the fitters, so there was minimal disruption for them during store opening hours.

To ensure transparency and reassurance, we provided the client with photos of the items as they were loaded and as they were left with the fitters. A comprehensive Proof of Delivery (POD) was provided in conclusion.

The Conclusion

The goods departed Worldwide Express at 4pm and were delivered in Belfast the following morning at 9am.

Our client was delighted that we were able to make the changes needed and appreciated the POD.

We felt that the delivery went very well, especially with the tricky loading, and overall, it was a quick and safe delivery.
