September 2024 – End-to-End Logistics for Urgent Temperature-Controlled Cargo

Supplying customers with a shortfall of food manufacturing products on behalf of our client.

The Client

Our client is an award-winning food company employing more than 12,000 people across a dozen bakeries. Manufacturing more than a billion products each year, their customers include supermarkets, independent stores and hospitality venues, to name a few. Their multiple sites from Cornwall to Manchester include their Leicestershire site.

The Challenges

This job involved moving two tonnes of dairy food product urgently from Shropshire to Leicestershire for our customer using our temperature-controlled logistics service. As their client had a shortfall in materials (which was holding back production), the job was an urgent matter.

Refrigerated cargo logistics demands precision, requiring specialised knowledge of commodities, smooth transitions, and adaptable and comprehensive end-to-end visibility to eliminate waste during transit.

Perishable goods must be temperature-controlled from collection to delivery.

Our challenge primarily was securing a 7.5-tonne vehicle with refrigeration at short notice.

In general, we support this client with parts and machinery logistics throughout the UK and Europe; however, as they know we have an excellent reputation for successfully completing even the most complicated jobs, they also decided to task us with carrying out the refrigerated work.

The Solution

We focused on delivering dependable and efficient temperature-controlled transportation solutions. Recognising the vital need to preserve ideal temperature conditions for perishable items, our dedicated team works tirelessly to safeguard the quality and freshness of your goods throughout the journey.

In this instance, we were able to utilise our vast national and international network of courier partners to get everything into place within 60 minutes. As we offer an end-to-end service, we delivered directly to our customer’s client, reducing any risks of delays or spoilage of product.

The Conclusion

The client expressed their gratitude for our hands-on approach in resolving this issue within such a short timeframe. They mentioned that they will certainly reach out to us again for any future projects they need assistance with.

The following day, we were contacted to carry out a similar job from Cheshire to Leicestershire, which we successfully completed.
